Privacy Policy — Maverick-JPC Mobile App
Last updated: 17 September 2026
This policy covers the Maverick-JPC Android application
(com.jpc.maverick). It is a work application used by Maverick-JPC
staff to run renovation and repair jobs, and by our customers to follow the
progress of work on their own property. It is not a general-purpose consumer
app and it carries no advertising.
What the app collects, and why
| Data | Why | Who provides it |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, phone number | Account sign-in, assigning work, contacting a customer about a job. | Staff accounts are created by the company. Customer details are given by the customer when requesting an estimate. |
| Precise location | Recording that a worker arrived at a job site, attaching a photograph to the correct property, and showing sites on a map. Collected only while the app is open and in use — never in the background. | Staff devices. |
| Photographs and video | Documenting the condition of a property before, during and after work; attaching images to an estimate; producing renovation previews. | Taken with the camera, or chosen from the device gallery. |
| Audio | Voice calls between team members inside the app, and spoken commands used instead of typing on a job site. Recorded only while the microphone control is active. | Staff devices. |
| Messages and work records | Team chat, task lists, safety reports, attendance, materials, estimates and invoices. | Entered by staff. |
| Notification token, app diagnostics | Sending job notifications to the right device, and identifying crashes. | The device. |
Location inside photographs
Photographs taken with a phone normally carry the exact coordinates of where they were taken, hidden inside the image file. The app removes this information from site photographs and from photographs attached to estimates and previews. Where a job photograph needs to prove where it was taken, the location is written visibly onto the picture instead, so that what is recorded is plain to everyone who sees it.
Some less common paths — a profile picture, a receipt scan, a drawing uploaded as an image — do not yet pass through that removal. We are extending it to every path, and this page will say so plainly when that is complete.
Who else processes this data
We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions only.
- Google Firebase — sign-in, database, file storage, notifications and hosting. This is where the app's data lives.
- Google Cloud (Gemini) — produces renovation preview images. A photograph of a room is sent to generate the preview.
- Anthropic (Claude) — assists with reading uploaded documents and summarising written reports.
- Agora — carries voice and video calls between team members.
- Twilio — delivers text messages about a project or an invoice. Receives the recipient's phone number and the message text.
- Open-Meteo — weather for a job site. Receives the coordinates of the site, and nothing else.
- Google Maps — shows job sites on a map.
- UPCitemdb — looks up a product by its barcode when scanning materials. Receives the barcode or search term.
We do not send customer data to advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not sell it. Staff can also open a web search or send a WhatsApp message from inside the app; those go to Google and WhatsApp as they would from any browser or phone.
How long we keep it
- Work records — estimates, invoices, job documentation and safety records are kept for as long as the business and its insurers and tax obligations require.
- Media attached to an estimate request or a preview — photographs uploaded while asking for a price, or to generate a renovation preview, and never linked to anything afterwards, are intended to be removed after 90 days. The routine that does this runs, but in report-only mode while we confirm it removes the right things and nothing else. Treat it as our intention rather than a guarantee until this page says otherwise.
- Job site photographs are kept — they are the record of what was done on a property, and they are not deleted on a timer. If you want photographs of your property removed, write to us.
- Accounts — staff accounts are disabled when a person leaves. Records of work they performed remain, because they are part of the job history.
Your choices
- Permissions. Camera, microphone, location, photos and Bluetooth are each requested when first needed and can be refused or withdrawn at any time in Android Settings. Refusing a permission disables the feature that needs it; the rest of the app continues to work.
- Notifications can be turned off in Android Settings.
- Access, correction and deletion. Write to us at the address below and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not required to keep it.
Children
The app is a work tool for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access rules that limit each person to what their role requires: a worker sees the sites they are assigned to, a customer sees only their own property.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
